Considered by many as the finest guitar player ever to come from Alabama, songwriter Wayne Perkins, who once performed with some of the world’s greatest rock and roll bands, attempts to revive his musical career.
Production started in 2022 and continued to 2025. Locations include Center Point, Argo, Hueytown, East Village Arts-Birmingham, Muscle Shoals, Alabama; Nashville, Tennessee; Macon, Georgia.
Filming at the Birmingham location of Wayne Perkins’s homestead in Center Point was critical to establishing Wayne’s musical upbringing, with his memories offering great stories. Filming later in Argo with Wayne and his brother Dale helped place Wayne at full circle back in Birmingham after years on the road playing music with some the world’s greatest of rock and roll artists. We also filmed at East Village Arts and the Birmingham Museum of Art in Birmingham. My cinematographer, production assistant and audio sound designer are based in Birmingham.
